Affiliates
It is mutually beneficial to have partnerships with other compatible organizations in the environmental horticultural or ‘Green’ Industry. The Green Industry is comprised of wholesale nursery and sod growers, landscape architects, designers/builders, contractors and maintenance firms, retail garden centers, home centers and mass merchandisers with lawn and garden departments, and marketing intermediaries such as brokers and horticultural distribution centers (re-wholesalers) (Economic Impacts of the Green Industry in the United States, www.utextension.utk.edu/hbin/greenimpact.html). The advantages of these partnerships to APLD are increased awareness by other Green Industry members of our association, education of the public about our profession and the ability to offer increased member benefits. APLD has initiated a program of Affiliations to serve this purpose.
