Greatest Benefit of Being Involved with APLD:
Being a member of APLD has allowed me to participate in a large network of talented and dedicated landscape designers. It has given me access to people and places that I might not have had otherwise. I actively volunteer my time at the international level on its Board of Directors as President Elect for 2013, and have been Technology Chair and Membership Chair. I participate in events for my local New Jersey chapter.
About Me:
My boutique design practice is based in the New York metropolitan area and specializes in residential projects. I infuse classic design priciples and artisnal details in each project be it contemporary or traditional. I am passionate about design and gardens and translate my love of gardens, travel, fashion and art into the very personal spaces I design for each client. No two projects are ever the same and I work collaboratively with most of my clients...when I walk away it's truely their outdoor space.
Within the context of each project I design and specify everthing from plants to stone to furniture to accessories and I work closely with my clients to insure that they get exactly what they want within their budgetary guidelines.
I am also a co-founder and editor at Leaf magazine, a contributing editor for Horticulture magazine. a contributor to the Garden Designer's Roundtable and APLD's blog Designers on Design as well as my blog own landscape design blog Miss Rumphius' Rules.
Additionally, I teach landscape design at New York Botanical Gardens and Bergen Community College.
